Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the attitudes of the teachers of science towards distance learning in terms of some variables. The research was carried out in the educational year 2020-2021 with 196 teachers of sciences in the province of Malta. After receiving the necessary permissions for the research, the scale of attitude towards remote education developed by Heavy (2007) was applied to teachers who participated voluntarily in the research and the attitudes towards remote education of teachers were studied in terms of gender, age, daily time range spent on the internet, the institution in which they work, the area in which the institution in which they work, professional experience, learning status and the pre-distance learning experience. The data was analyzed using the IBM SPSS 23 program. In data analysis, nonparametric tests were used by Mann Whitney U test and Kruskall Wallis H test. According to the findings obtained by the study, the daily time range spent on the internet, the gender and learning status variables in terms of the attitudes to distance education have not varied significantly; the age, the institution in which it works, the area in which the institution in which it works, the professional experience and the previous distance learning experience have statistically significantly varied according to the variables of being or not.
