Abstract:

This study has been done in order to development of Security Reporting System Applied in the Kartal Yavuz Selim State Hospital. The research data collected by the made even notifi cations between September 1, 2011 and March 15, 2012 in the hospital and prepared questionnaire with related Safety Reporting System. The universe of this research conducted 405 people. Research sample consisted of running the 145 volunteers who agreed to participate in the study. % 19.3 of the staff participate to research are physicians, % 66.9 are nurses, % 13.8 are medical technicians. % 46.9 of the staff participate to research are work in clinics, % 10.3 in intensive care, % 33.8 operating department, and % 9.0 in emergency service. The events related safety of the patient; patient falls % 13.8, transfusion safety % 12.3, surgical safety % 12.3 and drug safety % 15.2 have been expressed that are encountered more frequently by employees. Stab wounds to the safety of employees % 23.7 and contamination with blood and body fl uids events % 22.4 indicated as the most common events. % 62 of the participants imply that there is a notice specifying the event of the incident, % 24.6 of them one time, % 13.4 of them notice that the event two or more times % 84.1 , a notice in the event specifying whether any worries % 15.9 of them stated that the reservation to make event notifi cation.As a result, the encountered events by employee related with patients and employee’s safety in the hospital is understood further than the events which are notifi ed of events. Employees who are uncertain about the event notifi cation is remove of hesitation and the intensifi cation of service trainings would be useful
