Abstract:

Rapid changes and transformations in today's societies, management, science, economy, etc. It has affected many fields as well as information and communication technologies. Especially in recent years, with the rapid developments in information and communication technologies, the use of the internet has started to become widespread. With the widespread use of the Internet, social media platforms have become one of the most important and indispensable parts of daily life. Social media platforms, which enable individuals to communicate verbally or in writing, show their influence in many areas. Families, the smallest social institution of the society, are also affected by these platforms. Social media platforms, which cause the family structure and the basic values of the family to change, appear as a matter of discussion day by day. Social media not only affects the family structure of many countries, but also affects the Turkish family structure and causes negative effects especially on family communication, privacy, divorce and children. In this study, the effects of social media on the Turkish family structure are discussed theoretically and solutions are offered.
