Bireyler bilişsel ya da içgüdüsel sebeplerle kendilerini, kendileri gibi olanı üstün görme çabası içerisindeyken farklı olana karşı sınırlar çizme ve ötekileştirme eğiliminde olabilmektedirler. Ben/biz’in tanımladığı öteki algısının temelinde ise kimi zaman ırksal, sosyal, kültürel, dini, ekonomik, etnik, cinsiyete, cinsel tercihe ya da milliyete dayalı unsurlar yer alabilmektedir. Ben/biz algısı aidiyetle kabul görürken “öteki” aşağılanma, küçümsenme ya da yok sayılma gibi muamelelerle karşı karşıya kalabilmektedir. Öteki’nin medya aracılığıyla inşasında ise öteki’ne karşı hissedilen duygular topluma yayılarak adeta çarpan etkisi yaratmakta kimi zaman da istenmeyen fiziksel eylemlere sebep olabilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı yabancı teknik direktör Vitor Pereira örneği üzerinden televizyon futbol programlarındaki ötekileştirmeyi ortaya koymaktır. Bu bağlamda çalışma kapsamında Türk televizyonlarında en fazla izlenen futbol programı olan VAR Odası programının 21 Kasım 2021- 19 Aralık 2021 tarihli yayınlarında Vitor Rereira’ya yönelik dile getirilen ötekileştirici söylemler incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda programda yabancı teknik direktöre karşı pek çok kez ötekileştirici söylemlerde bulunulduğu görülmüştür.
Individuals, for cognitive or instinctive reasons, may be inclined to set boundaries and marginalize themselves against those who are different, while trying to see themselves as superior. Sometimes, racial, social, cultural, religious, economic, ethnic, gender, sexual preference or nationality-based factors can take place on the basis of the other perception that I/we defines. While the perception of me/us is accepted with belonging, the “other” may face treatment such as humiliation, belittlement or being ignored. In the construction of the Other through the media, the feelings felt towards the other spread to the society, creating a multiplier effect and sometimes causing unwanted physical actions. The aim of this study is to reveal the othering in television football programs through the example of foreign coach Vitor Pereira. In this context, within the scope of the study, the otherizing discourses against Vitor Rereira in the broadcasts of the VAR Odası program, which is the most watched football program on Turkish televisions, on 21 November 2021-19 December 2021 were examined. As a result of the study, it was seen that othering discourses were made against the foreign coach many times in the program.
