Abstract:

Kiğılı Sheikh Selim Efendi, who in the Tanzimat period has shown works in the field of Turkish Islamic literature, is one of the important figures that Bingöl has grown up. The poet was born in 1813 in the village of Aznafer (Doğankaya) connected to the Kiqi district of Bingöl. The poet who used Sin and Lam as a mahlas in his poems began his educational life alongside his father, Ismail Bagan. Thro the period, the poet, who is one of the most important scientists of the period, Ahmet Ziyaeddin Gümüşhanevî, who has tailored religious sciences, has received his exhortation by completing his tasavvufi education with Sheikh Ali Rıza Septi, who is one of the most important scientists of the region. It is clear that the Poetry of Shaykh Salim Efendi is an Arabic and Persian-knowledge. The poet died in 1898 in the village of Haraba, which is linked to the Bingöl or Kiğılı district. Despite all the changes and differences in the literature, which hosts social, political and cultural values in the Tanzimat period and possesses an important place in the transmission of these values to the next generations, the Turkish Islamic Literature is dependent on the life and art understanding and has created its works around the masmun and nazim forms of this literary pool. This is the subject of our work.
