Türk Eğitim Tarihinde medrese dışında Avrupaî tarzda bir Darülfünun (üniversite) kurulması fikri ilk defa 1845’te Muvakkat Maarif Meclisi’nce gündeme getirilmiştir. 1863, 1870 ve 1874 yıllarında üç girişim yapılmışsa da Türkiye’de kesintisiz olarak devam eden üniversitenin kuruluşu, II. Abdülhamid’in tahta çıkışının 25. yıldönümünde, 1 Eylül 1900’de, Darülfünûn-ı Şâhâne adıyla açılan müessese ile olmuştur. Avrupa -özellikle Fransa- üniversiteleri model alınarak kurulan bu müessese, Ulûm-ı Âliye-i Dîniyye, Ulûm-ı Riyaziye ve Tabiiye ve Edebiyat olmak üzere üç şubeden oluşmuştur. Böylece ülkemizde, Batılı model alarak teşekkül eden üniversite içerisinde Doğulu tarzda bir İlahiyat Fakültesi vücuda getirilmiştir. Bunun devamı olan İstanbul Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi, ülkemizde kurulmuş ilk ilahiyat fakültesi olma niteliğini sürdürmektedir.
Bu çalışmamızda; İstanbul Darülfünunu bünyesinde 1900-1915 yıllarında Ulûm-ı Âliye-i Dîniyye, Ulûm-ı Şer’iyye ve İlahiyat Şubesi şeklinde devam etmiş olan yüksek eğitim kurumunun teşkilat yapısı ortaya çıkarılarak, bu müesseseden yetişmiş 250 mezundan 150’sinin ilk kez künye bilgileri verilmiş ve dört mezunun da biyografisi ele alınmıştır. Osmanlı Arşivi’ndeki Maarif Nezareti dosya üsulu evrakı ile dört mezunun sicil dosyalarına dayalı olarak yapılan bu çalışma; hem müessesenin işleyişine ve tarihsel sürecine ışık tutmakta, hem de ders kadrosu, müfredatı ve müessesenin istatistik bilgilerini esas almaktadır.
The idea of establishing a Darülfün in European style (university) in the Turkish Education History was first presented by the Muvakkat Maarif Assembly in 1845. Three initiatives were made in 1863, 1870 and 1874, but the establishment of the university continued without interruption in Turkey, II. On the 25th anniversary of Abdülhamid's treasure, on 1 September 1900, Darülfünûn-i Shahâne was opened with the ceremony. This institution, which was established by the modeling of European – especially French – universities, consists of three branches: Ulûm-i Âliye-i Dîniye, Ulûm-i Riyaziye and Nature and Literature. Thus, in our country, a Teological Faculty in the East style was brought into the body within the university that was formed by the Western model. The Faculty of Theology of the University of Istanbul, which continues to be the character of being the first faculty of theology established in our country.
In this work, the organization structure of the higher education institution, which continued in the form of Ulûm-i Âliye-i Dîniye, Ulûm-i Şer'iyye and the Division of Theology in the 1900-1915 years within the Darülfünunu of Istanbul, was revealed, 150 of the 250 graduates who have grown up from this institution were first given the information of the university and the biography of the four graduates was also addressed. This study, based on the archive document of the Maarif Nezareti in the Ottoman Archive and the records of the four graduates, keeps light on both the functioning and historical process of the institution, and is based on the statistical information of the teaching staff, the curriculum and the institution.
In Turkish Education History, the idea of establishing a European-style Darülfünun (university) apart from the madrasah first acquired cuurency the Muvakkat Education Council in 1845. Though three attempts were made in the years 1863, 1870 and 1874, the establishment of university that would be incessant was achieved by the emergence of the institution named Darülfünûn-ı Şâhâne in September the 1st 1900 at the twenty-fifth anniversary of accession of Abdulhamid II. This institution, founded on the model of European -especially French- universities, consisted of three branches: Ulûm-ı Âliye-i Dîniyye, Ulum-ı Riyaziye and Tabiye ve Edebiyat. Thus, in our country, an Eastern-style Faculty of Theology was established within the university, which was formed by taking the Western model. Istanbul University Faculty of Theology continues to be the first faculty of theology established in our country.
In this study, the organizational structure of the higher education institution, which continued as Ulûm-ı Âliye-i Dîniyye, Ulûm-ı Şer'iyye and Theology Branch within the body of Istanbul Darülfünun between 1900-1915, has been highlighted, and the information about the identification tags of 150 of 250 graduates from this institution has been given for the first time, and biographies of four graduates are discussed. Based on the Ministry of Education file format documents in the Ottoman Archives and the registry files of four graduates, this study not only has revealed the functioning and historical process of the institution, but also taken the course staff, curriculum and statistical information of the institution as a basis.
