Abstract:

From popular literature products, stories, legends, fairy tales, folk stories are extremely important because they carry the common cultural codes of society and are a common memory. The colors and the meanings that are charged with these colors are also the cultural codes of the societies. The colors that come to us in every corner of our lives and surround us have many meanings, and these colors symbolize many things. The purpose of this study is to determine the meanings and purposes of the colors "al (red/red), yellow, sky (blue) and boz" passing from the Altay-Turkish castles in the Maaday-Black castle. For this purpose, the text source in the doctoral thesis of "Selahaddin Beki's "Altay-Türk Destanı Maaday-Kara (Metin-Incussion)" was taken and the colors were scanned on this text. It was found that the red (red) and yellow (green) and blue (blue) colors were widely used. Each of these colors has a meaning. The meanings symbolized by the colors in Destanda coincide with the ancient Turkish system of belief.
