Koronavirüs Hastalığı 2019 (COVID-19) Çin'in Wuhan kentinde ortaya çıkmış ve tüm dünyaya hızla yayılmıştır. Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (DSÖ) tarafından pandemi olarak ilan edilen salgın birçok alanı ya da grubu etkilemiştir. Bu çalışmada ilk olarak pandeminin eğitim ve öğrenciler üzerindeki etkisine, zorunlu uzaktan eğitim süreci ve etkilerine değinilmiştir. Çalışmada ayrıca, pandeminin özel gereksinimli bireyler üzerine etkisine, pandemi sırasında özel gereksinimli bireylere sunulan hizmetlere, pandeminin özel gereksinimli bireylerin aileleri üzerine yansımalarına, pandeminin özel gereksinimli bireylerin öğretmenleri üzerine yansımalarına odaklanılmıştır. Bunlara ek olarak pandemi sürecinin uzun süreli etkisi ve sonrası ile özel gereksinimli bireylere sağlık yönünden etkisi üzerinde durulmuştur.
The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) appeared in the Chinese city of Wuhan and has rapidly spread throughout the world. The epidemic, declared pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), has affected many areas or groups. This study first pointed to the influence of pandemic on education and students, the process and effects of compulsory distance learning. The study also focused on the impact of the pandemic on special needs individuals, the services offered to special needs individuals during the pandemic, the reflection of the pandemic on the families of special needs individuals, and the reflection of the pandemic on the teachers of special needs individuals. In addition, the long-term impact of the pandemic process and its subsequent health effects on special needs individuals have been focused.
