Abstract:

It is aimed to evaluate the effect of music practice during kangaroo care on behavioral status and physiological parameters of premature infants compared to only kangaroo care practice, with a systematic review and meta-analysis method. Our systematic review and meta-analysis protocol was written according to Preferred Reporting Items For Systematic Review And Meta-Analysis Protocols (PRISMA-P). It has been registered in the “PROSPERO” database (CRD42022303966). Randomized controlled studies and quasi- experimental studies, studies published in Turkish and English were included. WoS, Pubmed, Science Direct, CINAHL Complete, Scopus, Cochrane, Wiley Online Library ProQuest, Ulakbim, Medline Türk, YÖKTEZ databases were used. Keywords were created in PICOS order “AND” and “OR” and “AND” and “OR” operators were used. The Cochrane Bias Risk Assessment Tool was used. Studies that met the inclusion criteria were transferred to a coding table that included the author, year, country, study design, sample size, participant characteristics, groups, characteristics of the intervention group, measurements, and study results. "Hedge's g" will be used to calculate the effect size of the studies, and the I2 value will be evaluated with the Cochran's Q test in examining the heterogeneity. Funnel plots for publication bias, Orwin's fail-safe n value, Kendall tau value for Begg and Mazumdar rank correlation, and Egger regression constant method will be evaluated. With the results to be obtained in line with the results of the meta-analysis, it can be said that the effect of a single application or a combined application on the behavioral status and physiological parameters of the premature infants is positive or negative.
