The aim of this study was to investigate emergency service applications of geriatric patients and to reveal the reflections of chronic diseases, retrospectively. In our study, it was found that geriatric patients in emergency department usually have multiple diseases and usually need more than one consultation. In addition, the duration of the patient's stay in the emergency room and the rates of clinical admissions and intensive care units were higher. As for our country, the rates of use of health services are increasing parallel to the increase in age. The evaluation of these patients requires a multidisciplinary approach which differs from the younger group. Since this age group has more chronic diseases, it is recommended to give special training to hospital staff, to expand geriatric branch expertise, and to increase geriatric clinics in hospitals.
