The purpose of this study was to investigate the expectations of teachers, working in the Ministry of National Education (MONE) from postgraduate education. The sample of the study consisted of fourteen teachers from four elementary schools and three high schools in Nigde province in 2011-2012 academic year. While selecting the teachers in the sample, it was paid attention that teachers were willing to have postgraduate education. In this study, semi-structured illustrative qualitative research method was used. The data of this study were analysed through descriptive analysis technique. According to the findings of the study, it was concluded that teachers were in favour of postgraduate education in regard of four factors such as academic, personal, occupational benefits and the politics of the National Education.
