The plasticity of sound, music and noise images, which was frequently encountered in the plastic arts before the first half of the twentieth century in the history of art, has been transformed by the new variations brought by the artists to the traditional forming methods. Musicologically, the deconstruction of the musical syntax of sound, which is an auxiliary element for rhythm, melody and harmony, shows itself in the works produced by futurists with the discovery of urban noise and industrial sounds. With the emergence of concrete, electronic and synthetic music after the Second World War, that period’s avant-garde composers and musicians’ new view of sound turned the sound into a new field of expression and production in the plastic arts, expanded its boundaries and put it into interdisciplinary circulation. In this research, the existence and transformation of "Sound Art", which took its place in plastic arts terminology at the end of the 20th century, in the art environment in the West and Turkey will be re-evaluated with key examples selected from different periods of the history of art.
