Öz Bugün Konya İli’ne bağlı bir ilçe merkezi olan Akşehir’de lokalize edilen Philomelion, Akşehir Gölü’nün güneyinde, Sultan Dağları’nın doğusundadır. İl merkezine 130 km. uzaklıktadır. Bu çalışmada ilçe merkezi ve çevresinde bulunmuş olan ve çift alınlıklı olarak betimlenen mezar stelleri ele alınmıştır. Eserlerden ilki Sığırönü Mevkii’nden, üçüncüsü de Yarenler Mahallesi’nde yapılmış olan toplu konut alanı kurtarma kazısından getirilmiştir. İkincisinin ise buluntu yeri belli değildir. Akşehir Müze Müdürlüğü envanterine kayıtlı olan ve Roma İmparatorluk Dönemi’ne tarihlenen üç adet stelin, betimleme, biçimsel, ikonografik ve epigrafik incelemeleri yapılmıştır. 2 Nolu stelin M.S. 2. yüzyılın 2. yarısına, 1 ve 3 Nolu stellerin ise M.S. 3. yüzyıl ve ortalarına tarihlendirilmesi uygun olacaktır. The first of the works was brought from the located of Sığırönü and the third from the housing estate rescue excavation in Yarenler neighborhood. The location of the second one is not clear. These three steles, which are registered in the Akşehir Museum Directorate inventory, have been examined in terms of description, stylistic iconographic and epigraphic. It is appropriate that the No:2 stele is dated to the second half of the second century A.D. and the No:1 and No:3 steles are dated to the third century and the middle A.D.
