Abstract:

The efforts of transportation companies and operators to choose the most suitable and best trails among trails with different types, brands and features are increasing every day. When assessed in a general perspective, the choice of standard trailers is a highly complex process influenced by a number of factors. To rational results in the Treyler selection process, the decision-making problem must be solved using multi-critical decision-making methodologies. In this study, the results of the analysis by the method of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the methods of TOPSIS were selected, instead of being integrated and applied as a hybrid model, by being applied separately, the results of the analysis by both methods were evaluated. If the results are variable, possible reasons for this are discussed.

Nowadays, transportation companies and operators are making an increased effort in order to select the best and proper standard trailer among the various trailers that are different brands, types, and specifications. When it is evaluated in a general perspective, the selection of the best standard trailer is an extremely complex process that is affected by many factors and variables. In order to obtain rational results in the trailer selection process, this kind of decision-making problem can only be solved using the multi-criteria decision-making methodologies. In this study, the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and TOPSIS method were selected and both of them were separately applied instead of using a hybrid model that integrated both of them. The results of each implementation were evaluated. In case of the obtained results are different, potential reasons for that were discussed.
