Müzeler, günümüzde eğitimin bir parçası haline gelen ve birinci elden deneyim sağlayan kurumlardır. Müzelerde nesneler ile etkileşime giren birey, yaparak yaşayarak öğrenme sürecine katılmaktadır. Avrupa, ve Amerika’daki gelişmiş ülkelerde okul öncesi dönemden itibaren müzelerden yararlanılmaya başlanmaktadır. Bireylerin müze kültürünü küçük yaşlarda kazanabilmesi ve yetişkinlikte müze tüketicisi olabilmeleri için; bireyler müzeler ile okul öncesi dönemde tanıştırılmalıdır. Bunun için de okul öncesi dönemde müze eğitiminin önemini bilen ve müzelerden eğitim amaçlı yararlanabilen öğretmenlere ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin müze ile eğitime ilişkin görüş ve deneyimlerini ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgubilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Olgubilim çalışmalarında, bireylerin bir olgu ile ilgili yaşadıkları deneyimlere odaklanılmaktadır. Olgubilim ile desenlenen araştırmanın katılımcıları amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme ile belirlenmiştir. Bu kapsamda Küçükçekmece ilçesinde, çalıştığı kurum farklı sosyoekonomik düzeyde bulunan ve bağımsız anaokulları, ilkokullarda görev yapan altı öğretmen ile görüşme gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde olgubilim yöntemine ilişkin analiz kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda okulun bulunduğu sosyoekonomik düzey fark etmeksizin araştırmaya katılan tüm öğretmenlerin müzelerden gezi amaçlı yararlandıkları ortaya çıkmıştır. Okulu düşük sosyoekonomik bir çevrede bulunan öğretmenlerin müzelere ilişkin bilgi ve farkındalık düzeyinin daha az olduğu ve eğitimde müzelerden daha az yararlandıkları belirlenmiştir.
Museums are institutions that have become part of education today and provide first-hand experience. The individuals who interact with objects in museums participate in the learning process by living. In the developed countries in Europe and America, museums are being used from preschool period. In order for individuals to gain museum culture at a young age and to become a museum consumer in adulthood; individuals should be introduced in the preschool with museums. For this, there is a need for teachers who know the importance of museum education and benefit from museums for educational purposes in pre-school period. The aim of this study is to reveal the opinions and experiences of preschool teachers about education and museum. In this research, phenomenology is used. Case studies focus on the experiences of individuals related to a case. The participants of the research designed with phenomenology were determined by criterion sampling from purposeful sampling methods. In this context, the institution in Küçükçekmece was held with six teachers working in different kindergartens and elementary schools. The semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher was used to collect the data. In the analysis of the data, the phenomenology analysis was used. As a result of the research, it was revealed that all teachers who participated in the research benefited from the museums for sightseeing purposes, regardless of the socioeconomic level of the school’s enviroment. It was determined that the teachers in the school with low socioeconomic environment had less knowledge and awareness about museums and they benefited less from the museums.
