Abstract:

Prof. Dr. Beyza Bilgin is a religious educator who continued his "religious" career in the field of "religious education" in 1956 and continued this journey as the first professor in the field. In this article, the contributions to religious education were discussed and evaluated by introducing the life and work of Beyza Bilgin, which has made significant contributions with scientific research in the field of religious education in Turkey. In this regard, the main problem of the article is found in the question of what the work and efforts of Beyza Bilgin, which is a very effective name for religious education science and what the contribution to the dimensions of religious education and religious education is. Thus, the purpose of the study is to try to illustrate the influence and contribution of the intellectual and academic productions of Bilgin, which extends beyond its time with the contribution of religious education to the journey of scientificalization, in an imaginary perspective. To this goal, Bilgin's life story, which includes family, education and professional life, was achieved as a result of an interview with him on 15.09.2012. In addition to biographical data, the publications with Bilgin's thought projections were also discussed in the article in order to make the impact and contribution to the field more clear. Beyza Bilgin, who has signed many principles in the field of religious education, has been attempted to answer the questions in which dimensions and how his contribution to religious education is, with the method of the situation-modeling illustrative content analysis. According to the article, Beyza Bilgin’s religious education is the pioneer of the scientificalization and institutionalization as well as the theoretical and practical developments in the field.

In this article, the life and works of Beyza Bilgin, who has made significant contributions to the scientific research she has done in the field of religious education in Turkey, are mentioned and her contributions to religious education are discussed and evaluated. In this direction, the main focus of the article is on the question of what is the contribution of Beyza Bilgin, a very influential name for the science of religious education, to the science of religious education and the dimensions of religious education. Therefore, the aim of the study is to try to reveal the effects and contributions of the intellectual and academic productions of Beyza Bilgin who extend beyond her own time through her contributions to the journey of scientific religious education, to the field of religious education from a descriptive point of view. In order to achieve this goal, Bilgin’s life story, which includes his family, education and professional life, was reached as a result of an interview with her on 15.09.2020. Apart from biographical data, Bilgin’s publications with intellectual projections are also discussed in the article in order to make her influence and contribution to the field more obvious. It has been tried to be answered by the method of descriptive content analysis with a situation pattern of questions about the dimensions and how Beyza Bilgin, who has signed many firsts in the field of religious education, contributed to religious education. As a result of this stage, Beyza Bilgin has deeply influenced the scientificization and institutionalization of religious education, formal religious education and training, as well as non-formal religious education with its theoretical and practical dimensions, that she is a pioneer of developments in the field, and it has been found that her works set a fresh horizon for future studies and applications.
