Abstract:

Making music together is one of the best methods to experience music that enriches human life. Choirs are groups created to perform together. Among the academic studies done in the field of music in Turkey, there are numerous studies on the choir. These studies analyze a variety of topics, including intonation, conducting, and choirs composed of members from various musical styles. This study was created to contribute to the scientific research that is planned to be done in the field of choir and aims to present the articles published between 2002 and 2022 with the title "chorus" in the Tr Index database with various sub-problems (publication year, journal, method, sample group, number of citations, subject). Within the scope of the study, articles containing the "Chorus" topic between 2002-2022 were scanned in the Tr Index database, (n=18) articles were studied with bibliographic analysis, and the results were presented with descriptive tables such as content analysis and percentage-frequency distributions. According to the study’s findings, the articles were released between 2006 and 2022, with the majority of the studies conducted in 2018 (n=4). The studies were mostly published in university journals, with an avarage of (x=16,56) references per study. It was seen that children's themes were handled more extensively.Furthermore it was observed that the choral phrases were most frequently used, the case study approach was commonly chosen as the approach, in addition the sample distribution was mostly studied with 223 choir conductors and 110 music teacher candidates.
