Abstract:

Meta-analysis is a statistical method that helps to qualitatively and quantitatively combine the results of numerous independent studies carried out at different places and times on a particular subject and to reach a common judgment on that subject. In this study, the aim is to use the meta-analysis method in solving the problems identified in veterinary microbiology. For this purpose, two problems have been identified as the presence of the Crimean Kongo Blood Fire Virus in farm animals and the study of the consistency of the results in the detection of Taylorella equigenitalis in horses with the culture and PCR methods. The research database is a member of the Dicle University Library (Pub Med, Science Direct, ISI Web, Proquest, Summon, etc.) has been used. The literature, books and/or sections identified in both hypotheses, non-English literature, compilations and repetitions were read after the extract, and the data used in meta analysis was tried to be obtained. However, in both hypotheses, the data could not be metaanalyzed. The reasons for this can be briefly stated as the diversity of animal species, the diversity of working methods and the statistical methods are not the same. As a result, it is understood that the studies on veterinary medicine and animal health should pay attention to the above aspects in the published articles in order to be able to apply systematic assembly and meta-analysis more widely.
