Abstract:

The moral development of individuals is among the important issues in human history. The orders of religions on the moral principle and the philosophers' thoughts on morality have been the source of the explanation of the concept of morality. At this point, it will be useful to get acquainted with the life, works, philosophical views and thoughts of Ibn Miskeveyh, who synthesized Islamic moral thought and Greek philosophers' thoughts on moral philosophy, to understand the concept of morality. In this article, the characteristics of the period in which Ibn Miskeveyh lived, what effects this period had on him, and the people he was influenced by in his time have been tried to be explained. Again, the philosophical views of Ibn Miskeveyh in the field of metaphysics, psychology, prophethood and history are tried to be summarized in this article. In the continuation of the article, information about whether morality can be touched by Ibn Miskeveyh in his important work, Tehzibu'l Ahlak, what real goodness and happiness are, the place of love in human life, the choice of friends and child dressing, and the philosophers he was impressed with while presenting these thoughts. are given. As a result, Ibn Miskeveyh and his thoughts on moral development are among the subjects that need to be researched.
