Dijital oyun bağımlılığı ergenler için ciddi bir risk oluşturmaktadır. Bu nedenle bu kavramın ergenlerde araştırılması önemlidir. Bu araştırma ergenlerde internette amaçsız gezinme ile dijital oyun bağımlılığı arasındaki ilişkide anksiyetenin aracı etkisini incelenmiştir. Araştırma 323’ü %49.1 kız, 335’i %50.9 erkek olmak üzere 658 ergen üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Katılımcıların yaşları 12 ile 19 arasında değişmekte olup, yaş ortalamaları 13.61’dir. Veriler Beck Anksiyete Ölçeği, Ergenler için Oyun Bağımlılığı Ölçeği ve Kişisel Bilgi Formu ile elde edilmiştir. Değişkenlerin normallik varsayımlarını karşıladığı tespit edildikten sonra analize geçilmiştir. Araştırmada tarama modeli kullanılmış ve değişkenler arasındaki ilişki aracılık testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada internette amaçsız gezinmenin dijital oyun bağımlılığını ve anksiyeteyi pozitif yönde anlamlı şekilde yordadığı tespit edilmiştir. Aynı zamanda anksiyetenin dijital oyun bağımlılığını anlamlı şekilde yordadığı görülmektedir. İnternette amaçsız gezinme ile dijital oyun bağımlılığı arasındaki ilişkide anksiyetenin kısmi aracılık ettiği tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular alan yazın ışığında tartışılmış ve araştırmacı ve uygulamacılara önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Abstract:

Digital gaming addiction is a serious risk for adolescents. This is why it is important to research this concept in adolescents. This study has studied the instrumental effect of anxiety on the relationship between unintended browsing on the internet and digital gaming addiction in adolescents. The study was conducted on 323 (49.1%) girls and 335 (50.9%) men and 658 adolescents. The age of the participants varies from 12 to 19 and the average age is 13.61. The data was obtained by the Beck Anxiety Scale, the Game Addiction Scale for Adults and the Personal Information Form. The analysis was carried out after the variables were found to meet the normal assumptions. In the study, the scanning model was used and the relationship between the variables was analyzed by the mediation test. The study found that unintended browsing on the internet significantly influences digital gaming addiction and anxiety in a positive direction. It also shows that anxiety significantly undermines digital game addiction. It has been found that anxiety is partially mediated in the relationship between unintended browsing and digital gaming addiction. The findings obtained have been discussed in the light of the summer and have been given recommendations to researchers and practitioners.

This research aimed to investigate the mediator effect of anxiety on the relationship between aimless navigation on the internet and digital game addiction in adolescents. The research was carried out on a total of 658 adolescents, including 323 49.1% of whom were girls and 335 50.9% were boys. The ages of the participants were distributed between 12 and 19, and the average age was 13.61. Data were obtained by Beck Anxiety Scale, Game Addiction Scale for Adolescents and Personal Information Form. The analysis was made after the variables were found to meet the normality assumptions. The survey model was used in the research and the relationship between the variables was analyzed by the mediator test. In the research, it was determined that aimless navigation on the Internet significantly predicted digital game addiction and anxiety in positively. At the same time, anxiety significantly predicts digital gaming addiction. It has been found that anxiety is mediated partially in the relationship between aimless navigation on the internet and digital game addiction. The findings of the study were discussed in the light of the literature and suggestions were made to the researchers and practitioners.
