Abstract:

Objective: This study was conducted to determine the effects of occupational anxiety levels on the job satisfaction of pre-hospital emergency medical service professionals. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted as an online survey application with a total of 72 pre-hospital healthcare professionals, 29 of whom were Emergency Medical Technicians and 43 Paramedics, who worked in the field in Adıyaman Provincial Ambulance Service and agreed to participate in the study. In the research, the "Person Information Form", "Occupational Anxiety Scale for Emergency Medical Service Professionals" and "Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale" were used as data collection tools. Data from the study were analyzed by utilizing SPSS v. 25.00 computer program. Results: The participants' total mean score of the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale's subscale of intrinsic was found as 2.99±0.72, the subscale of extrinsic was determined as 2.50±0.86, and the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale's total mean score was calculated as 2.79±0.73. The Occupational Anxiety Scale for Emergency Medical Service Professionals' total mean score was found as 86.11±18.15. It was determined that the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale total mean scores of the female, paramedic, married, and 18-25-year-olds who participated in the study were higher than the other healthcare professionals who participated in the research. Conclusion: It was concluded that the occupational satisfaction total mean score of the healthcare professionals was low, and the level of anxiety was high. Determining the factors affecting the occupational satisfaction of healthcare professionals and providing the necessary solutions are important in reducing the anxiety level of healthcare professionals.
