Abstract:

Katılımcıların; %17.5’si lisans, %25,8’i yüksek lisans, %56.7’i doktora düzeyinde eğitim görmüş bireylerden oluşmaktadır. Çalışma grubunun %8.6’ Profesör, %10.8 Doçent, %21.0 Doktor Öğretim Üyesi, %8.3’ü Öğretim görevlisi, %32.2’si Araştırma Görevlisi, %19.1’i diğer akademik kadrolarda görev yapmaktadır.

The Power of Adult Uncertain Connecting Dimensions to Survive Couple Extinction: University Academic Staff Example
2019
Author:
Abstract:

Marriage is the process of marriage of two individuals who come from different experiences and have their own expectations. The failure to meet the expectations of marriage causes marriages to disappear over time. This condition, conceived as marriage extinction, covers exhaustion at the cognitive, emotional and physical level. The exhaust of the spouse may be affected by the expectations of individuals, as well as the behavioral patterns of the spouses regarding the bonding. The aim of this study is to explore how high the characteristics of linking the levels of marriage extinction that university academic staff experiences in their marriage relationships. The study group consisted of 103 women and 211 men who worked as academic staff at a public university and a total of 314 participants. The number of participants is 17. 5 are graduates, 25.8 percent are graduates, and 56.7 percent are graduates who have graduated at the doctoral level. 8.6 % of the study group’s professors, 10.8 % doctors, 211 % doctors, 8.3 % teachers, 32.2 % researchers, 19.1 % in other academic staff. The research data was collected during the 2015-2016 academic year. In the study, to determine the level of marriage extinction of the participants, marriage extinction scale-ETO, the experiences in close relationships have been used by adapting to married individuals to determine the formation of connection related to close relationships. In order to adapt the YII-II to married individuals, 142 women and 46 men, separately from the study group, collected data from a total of 188 married individuals, and reliability and validity studies on these data were conducted. As a result of the adjustment work, the form was obtained consisting of 2-dimensional 26 items in accordance with the original scale factor structure that can be used in the married sample of YIE II. In the analysis of the data, multiple linear regression analysis has been used for processes related to the degree of YIYE-II’s ETO points. Before the multi-linear regression analysis, it was checked whether the variables meet the assumptions and conditions required for the regression analysis. According to the findings obtained by the multi-linear regression analysis, uncertainty and avoidance with uncertainty connectivity dimensions describe 23% of the total variance of equalization points of academic staff. The remaining part is explained by other variables that are not included in the model. According to the research findings, worrying and avoiding bonds are the determinants of the exhaust that academic staff experiences in the marriage relationship. The research findings are interpreted on the basis of previous research findings and theoretical explanations related to the psychodynamic-evolutionary marriage extinction model and connection theory.

The Predictive Power Of Adult Attachment Dimensions On Couple Burnout: The Case Of University Academic Staff
2019
Author:
Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to examine how the attachment styles of academicians influence the level of couple burnout in marriage. The study group of the research consists of 314 participants, 103 female and 211 male, working as academic staff in a public university. 17.5% of the participants have bachelor's degree, 25.8% have master's degree and 56.7% have PhD. 8.6% of the study group are professors, 10.8% are associate professors, 21.0% are assistant professors, 8.3% are lecturers, 32.2% are research assistants and 19.1% are employed in other academic units. The data of the research is collected in the 2015-2016 academic year. In order to determine the level of couple burnout of the participants in the study, Couple Burnout Measure CBM ; and to determine the attachment formation related to close relationships, Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised ECR-R is used by adapting to married individuals. In order to adapt ECR-R to married individuals, data is collected from 188 married 142 female and 46 male participants separately from the study group, and reliability and validity checks are performed. The form of the ECR-R which can be used in the married individuals' sample was obtained a two dimensional structure in accordance with the factor structure of the original scale. As a result of factor analysis; Items 1, 2, 6, 9, 10, 12, 17, 28, 31 and 35 were removed from the scale..Of the remaining 26 items, 13 items are in the attachment related anxiety dimension and 13 items are in theattachment related avoidance dimension. The adopted form of ECR-R explains 37,535 of the variance.Descriptive statistics were used to describe the characteristics of the study group. When analyzing the data, multiple linear regression analysis is used for the procedures related to the ECR-R's degree of predicting the CBM scores. Prior to multiple linear regression analysis, it is checked that whether the variables meet the assumptions and requirements for regression analysis. The findings obtained through multiple linear regression analysis suggest that anxiety and avoidance, the insecure attachment dimensions, explain 23% of the total variance of the burnout scores of academic staff. The remaining part, on the other hand, is explained by other variables that are not included in the model. According to the research results, anxious and avoidant attachment are the determinants of the couple burnout experienced in marital relationship by academic staff. The research findings are interpreted on the basis of previous research findings and theoretical explanations related to Psychodynamic-Existential Couple Burnout Model and Attachment Theory
