Bu araştırma öğrencilerin okuma motivasyonları ve okuduğunu anlama becerilerinin, akademik başarıyı yordama düzeyini belirlemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma, ilkokul dördüncü sınıfa devam eden 758 öğrenci üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırma, ilişkisel tarama modelinde yürütülmüştür. Verilerin analiz edilmesinde betimleyici istatistiklere, korelasyon analizlerine ve çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizlerine yer verilmiştir. Araştırmada ulaşılan bulgulara göre okuma motivasyonu ve okuduğunu anlama, öğrencilerin akademik başarılarının anlamlı yordayıcısıdır. Diğer taraftan akademik başarı ile okuma motivasyonu arasında düşük oranda pozitif yönlü okuduğunu anlamaları arasında ise orta düzeyde pozitif yönde anlamlı düzeyde ilişki bulunmuştur. Bu bulgulara göre öğrencilerin okuma motivasyonu ve okuduğunu anlama becerileri arttıkça, öğrencilerin akademik başarıları da artmaktadır.
This research was carried out with the aim of determining the level of student reading motivations and understanding skills that they read, and the degree of academic success. The study was conducted on 758 students of the 4th grade of primary school. The research was carried out in the relational scan model. The analysis of the data included illustrative statistics, correlation analysis and multi-linear regression analysis. According to the findings achieved in the research, reading motivation and understanding of reading is a meaningful promoter of student academic achievements. On the other hand, the academic success and the reading motivation have a low-range positive; the understanding of what they read has a mean-range positive relationship. According to these findings, as students have increased their reading motivation and understanding skills, the academic achievements of students are also increasing.
This research was carried out to determine the level of predicting academic success of the students based on their reading motivation and reading comprehension skills. The research was carried out on 758 students attending the fourth grade of primary school. Descriptive statistics, correlation analyzes and multiple linear regression analyzes were included in the analysis of the data. According to the findings obtained from the research, reading motivation and reading comprehension are the significant predictors of students' academic success. On the other hand, there is a low positive level between academic achievement and reading motivation; a moderate positive relationship was found between reading comprehension. Accordingly, as students' reading motivation and reading comprehension skills increase, students' academic success also increases.
