Although, we have strong historical and cultural ties with Morocco, almost no studies have been performed on Moroccan literature. After the Islamic domination, Morocco has been a part of the Arabic culture in literature as in many respects and has continued the same character and development as in Arabic literature in any other regions. The regress of the Islamic world also reflected in Morocco literature and when it comes to 19th century, Morocco has entered into a slump in terms of literature. The occupation and mandate period have created a jolt for the people of Morocco. Literature, especially poetry has turned into trigger sand during this time. Through poetry, the search for identity and personality began and the poetry was a symbol of national resistance. During this period, the classical pattern began to fall and new ideas began to be developed. Opened up the cultural situation which is a closed to outside, the Moroccan poets have started to have an interaction with thee outer world, especially with Egypt and Algeria since beginning of the last century, and having a communication with the men of letters, they started to develop the new understanding of poetry
