Abstract:

Bauhaus is a design school that aims to expose functional and artistic products by combining art, craftsmanship and industry. With the influence of the industrial revolution, Bauhaus’s basic training is that the product resulting from the combination of appropriate materials and functionality is good. From here, the educational outlet was addressed; in the process, it reflected architecture, interior and furniture. So it turns out that a design concept finds its shape from different scales to the furniture scale. The study, conducted as a literary research, covers the three periods of the Bauhaus stream, the Weimar, Dessau, the Berlin period and workshops related to these periods. Important representatives of these periods and designers who have played an active role in the workshops; Johannes Itten, Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer, Josef Albers, Alfred Arndt and Mies Van Der Rohe's furniture designs, educational methods have been discussed. The furniture in the workshops was studied using the visual scan method through the chairs and the Bauhaus managers were categorized as the workshop masters and furniture of the furniture workshop.
