Abstract:

This research was carried out with the aim of determining the views of students undergraduate education in the field of Psychological Consultancy and Guidance (PDR) on PDR graduate education. The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP 2016) has stated that three dimensions should be taken into account in order to train psychiatric consultants in qualifications in accordance with the requirements of the employment area. These are; 1. Individual factors such as the expectations, needs, characteristics of students and personal trends of graduate students in relation to the program, 2. Accreditation of Graduate Programs 3. The professional inspection. This study aims to identify the challenges, needs and recommendations of graduate students who undergo graduate education within the scope of their program-related expectations, needs, characteristics of students and personal trends. The participants were addressed 11 open end questions with a semi-configured interview form. Themes and codes related to the data obtained from the conversations have been created by content analysis, which is the way of quality data analysis. According to the research, the general publication-oriented course, the quality and quantitative development of the practical courses and the views on effective supervision are at the forefront within the needs and expectations; working in a different job outside the academy, the lack of curriculum content and the problems of the academic environment are at the forefront. All the findings obtained from the research were discussed within the framework of the field.
