OBJECTIVE: We aimed to examine gender differences regarding tumor stage prior to initial diagnosis of bladder carcinoma. METHODS: 470 patients who underwent initial transurethral resection between January 2010-January 2015 were examined retrospectively. Age, gender, smoking habbits, presence of gross hematuria,Time from first episode of gross hematuria to time from first episode of hematuria to bladder cancer diagnosis, tumor stage and tumor grade were assessed. RESULTS: 450 patients included in this study. CONCLUSION: While non muscle invasive bladder cancer is occured more frequent in men, muscle invasive bladder cancer is occured more frequent in women. Also, high grade tumor is occured more frequent in men.
