Abstract:

Language is the most basic means of communication that allows expressing emotions and thoughts, shaping the culture of a society, while at the same time being influenced by it. Human beings have followed different approaches in naming concepts when encountering a situation or event throughout their lives. For this reason, it is important to determine which meanings and ways words have been used in which periods from the past to the present. Derleme Sözlüğü, which is one of the works that attracts attention in this context, is one of the important works due to the rich variety of concepts it contains. The dictionary was created by compiling words from the mouths of the people in different regions of our country. For this reason, Derleme Sözlüğü is one of the important works in terms of being a mirror of the Turkish language. In this study, based on the Compilation Dictionary, which attracts attention with its many concepts in terms of the oral characteristics it reflects, the existence of bodily diseases has been tried to be examined by determining. In the study, the vocabulary of bodily diseases was examined based on the 12-volume Derleme Sözlüğü published by the Turkish Language Institution, and at the same time, historical and contemporary sources related to the subject were scanned and vocabulary assets were tried to be determined. It is indicated in parentheses whether there are the same word entities in the sources used when examining words. If there are the same word entities in the sources, they are shown with (-) signs if (+) is not found. Turkish Dictionary of Turkish It has been determined that some of the vocabulary elements related to physical diseases detected in Derleme Sözlüğü have been used from Old Turkish to Turkish. These identified elements are shown one by one. In the study, all the words related to the disease were identified in Derleme Sözlüğü, and the transcript of the detected words in the dictionary was transferred exactly by taking into account.
