Abstract:

Rüstem Paşa Camii, which has a special place among the Ottoman Period Kastamonu Camilers, is the subject of our work. "Menekşe Camii, Mahmut Efendi Camii, Divan Camii" is named by different names, Rüstem Paşa Camii Kastamonu is located on a high hill in the Talipler Village border of the Menekşe (Benefşe) mountain position. The square planed structure also shows a very simple and functional structure character with the one-honor minar fiction. In terms of architectural characteristics, the mosque is located among the wood-covered mosques that have not previously been studied in detail. It is especially important that the head of the period, Rüstem Pasha, has a different cover system like a roof roof alongside the other cubic mosques. In this study, the subject mosque has been studied in detail by introducing its history, architecture and decoration characteristics. It has been evaluated in terms of the use of the roof cover in the Anatolian and Ottoman architecture.
