Nüfusun genelindeki artış ve insan ömrünün uzamasıyla artan yaşlı nüfusun da dahil olmasıyla engelli nüfus da günden güne artmaktadır. Bu durum engelli turizmini tüm turizm paydaşları açısından azımsanamayacak bir potansiyel haline getirmektedir. Bu çerçevede çalışma, yerel halkın engelli turizmine bakış açısını ve algı düzeyini ölçmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu bağlamda Sakarya’nın Sapanca ilçesindeki erişilebilir turizm altyapısı ve turizm işletmelerine getirilmesi gereken engelli bireylere yönelik standart ve uygulamalar yerel halkın bakış açısıyla incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Nicel araştırma yöntemi olarak tasarlanan bu çalışmada verilerin anket tekniği ile toplanmış ve analizi SPSS programı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak; yerel halkın, engelli bireylere karşı duyarlı oldukları fakat engelli turizmine yönelik düzenlemelere dair yeterli bilgiye sahip olmadıkları anlaşılmıştır.
As the population increases and the ageing population increases, the disabled population is also increasing from day to day. This situation makes disabled tourism a potential that is unmissible for all tourism stakeholders. In this framework, the study aims to measure the viewpoint and level of perception of the disabled tourism of the local people. In this context, the standards and practices for disabled persons to be brought to the accessible tourism infrastructure and tourism enterprises in Sakarya's Sapanca district have been attempted to be examined from the perspective of the local people. This study, designed as a Nicel research method, collected data with the survey technique and the analysis was carried out with the SPSS program. As a result, it is understood that the local people are sensitive to disabled individuals but do not have sufficient knowledge about the regulations for disabled tourism.
