Abstract:

In today’s world, due to the competitive markets, the amounts of goods and services are provided by consumers in all sectors. This is why companies are seriously reducing their profit rates in their production. Companies need to provide a minimum cost to increase these falling profits. Therefore, by focusing on warehouse design, companies have become an obligation to create a warehouse design that fits the age of technology, increases the profit rate and reduces costs. In the definitions made, logistics is the flow and storage of customer demands with the truths of logistics from the starting point to the consumer point. Today, serious research is available on warehouse design, which is in the most important processes of logistics. If the warehouse design is properly provided, companies bring the supply chain network to an efficient level and have a great advantage over their competitors. The storage systems used in conjunction with the warehouse design, by increasing the efficiency of work in the business, ensure that it forms in the corporate memory. In our study, a company operating in the food industry in the Karaman Organized Industry Region has been discussed, the warehouse design and the systems used in the warehouse, and the positive effects on the efficiency of the company have been identified. There are some deficiencies compared to the systems and designs used in similar companies in the sector, their installation costs will be covered in time by the management of the business, the work to fix the deficiencies has begun. The work was not generalized because it was only done in Karaman province and in a single company, as well as due to the influence of the company operating in the international market, all data were not allowed.
