Abstract:

Purpose: This research was carried out with the aim of making a comparative analysis of the factors affecting the culture of patient safety and job satisfaction in nurses. Materials and Methods: The research is performed in the identification-sensitive manner. The sample of the study was made by 260 nurses working in two state hospitals and a university hospital located in the TRA2 northeast of Turkey. The data of the study was collected between August 2017 and March 2018. The research data was obtained using "Indicative Characteristics Form", "Patient Safety Culture Scale" and "Natural Care Scale". In data analysis, from parametric tests to Anova (F) and t-Test, from non-parametric tests to Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis H tests were used. It also calculates the scale total points and the scale sub-dimensional points average. In addition to this, the relationship between the "Patient Safety Culture" and the "Business Doyum in Nurses" was considered by the correlation analysis. Results: The total score is calculated at 2.78 ± 0.47 in the patient safety culture scale and at 3.34 ± 0.68 in the nursing work scale. According to some of the independent variables discussed in the study, the difference between the groups was statistically meaningful in both "situation of choice of nursing profession", "situation in the department in which he worked" and "situation of finding his job in accordance with his abilities" according to the patient safety culture scale and the scale of employment in nurses (p<0,05). There is also a positive relationship between the patient safety culture and work satisfaction (p=0,000, r=0,598). Result: In nurses, it was found that 31 independent variables affected both the patient safety culture and the work satisfaction. The result is that nurses with a high health culture have a high employment satisfaction.
