Abstract:

Öğrencilerin okula aidiyet duygusunun gelişmesi, birbirlerine olan bağlılıkları, kendilerini okulda daha mutlu, huzurlu hissetmelerini sağlar. Ayrıca bu durum öğrencilerin akademik, sosyal ve psikolojik gelişimleri açısından oldukça önemli bir role sahiptir. Bu çalışma, Ortaöğretim kurumlarında okuyan öğrencilerin okula aidiyet düzeylerini çeşitli değişkenler açısından değerlendirilmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışma, Ankara ve Çankırı’da tesadüfi örneklem yoluyla seçilmiş farklı lise türlerinde öğrenim gören 1817 lise öğrencisi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilerin toplanmasında Goodnew tarafından oluşturulan ve Sarı’nın Türkçeye uyarladığı Okula Aidiyet Duygusu Ölçeği (OADÖ) kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin geçerlik güvenirlik çalışması bu çalışmada tekrarlanmıştır. Ölçekten elde edilen verileri değerlendirmek amacıyla Mann Whitney U Testi ve Kruskal Wallis test istatistiği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonunda öğrencilerin okula aidiyet duygularıyla cinsiyet, lise türü, devam edilen sınıf ve okul tercihi anlamlı bir şekilde farklılaşmaktadır. Bunun yanında okula aidiyet duygusu ile yaşanılan şehir arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır. Ayrıca okula aidiyet duygu düzeyinin nedenlerini belirlemek amacıyla öğrencilerin 9.,16., ve 17. Sorulara verdikleri cevaplar değerlendirilmiştir. Öğrencilerin OADÖ’den elde ettikleri ortalama değer 3,28 olarak bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin okula aidiyet duygu düzeylerinin ortalama değerin (3.00) üzerinde olduğu ifade edilebilir.

The development of the student’s feeling of belonging to school, their commitment to each other, makes them feel happier and more peaceful at school. This situation also plays a very important role in the academic, social and psychological development of students. This study was conducted in order to evaluate the level of affiliation to the school of students studying in the secondary education institutions in terms of various variables. The study was conducted with 1817 high school students who studied in different high school types selected through random sampling in Ankara and Çankırı. The data collection was created by Goodnew and used by the Yellow to adapt to the Turkish School’s Feeling Measurement (OADÖ). The validity of the measure of reliability work is repeated in this study. To evaluate the data obtained from the scale, Mann Whitney U Test and Kruskal Wallis test statistics were used. At the end of the study, the feelings of belonging to the school of students significantly differentiate gender, high school type, continued class and school preference. There was no significant difference between the school and the city. Also, students 9., 16, and 17 to determine the reasons for the emotional level of affiliation to the school. The answers they answered were assessed. The average value that students obtained from OADÖ was 3.28. It can be stated that students’ level of attitude to school is above the average value (3.00).

Development in the students’ sense of belonging to school, their commitment to each other, makes them feel happier and peaceful at school. In addition, this situation has a very important role in terms of students' academic, social and psychological development. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the belonging circumstance to school of the secondary students in terms of various variables. This study has applied to 1187 high school students studying in different types of high school selected by random sampling in Ankara and Çankırı. While collecting data, Sense of Belonging to School Scale developed by Goodnew and adapted to Turkish by Sarı has been used. The validity and reliability study of the scale has repeated also in this study. To evaluate the data obtained from the scale, Mann WhitneyU test and Kruskal Wallis test statistics have been utilized. At the end of the study, the students’ sense of belonging to the school has meaningfully differed from their gender, type of high school, continuing class and school preference. On the other hand, it has been found that there is no significant difference between the sense of belonging to the school and the city in which they live. In addition, in order to determine the reasons for the sense of belonging to the school, the reasons of the students' answers to the 9th, 16th and 17th questions were evaluated. The average value that students obtained from OADÖ was found as 3.28. It can be stated that students' sense of belonging to school is above the average value (3.00).
