Bu çalışmada kent-kültür farklılıkları doğrultusunda ergenlerde duygusal özerkliğin kazanılması sürecinde farklılıklar ve sosyo-demografik değişkenler açısından etkileşim olup olmadığının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda Türkiye’nin doğusunu ve batısını temsilen Van ve İstanbul illerinden alınan katılımcıların karşılaştırılması planlanmıştır. Çalışmaya 15-25 yaşları arasında 1136’sı İstanbul ilinde, 876’sı Van ilinde yaşayan, 1271 kız, 741 erkek olmak üzere toplam 2012 kişi katılmıştır. Katılımcılar Duygusal Özerklik Ölçeği ve sosyo-demografik anket formunu cevaplamışlardır. Tek yönlü çok değişkenli ve çok yönlü çok değişkenli varyans analizi (MANOVA) sonuçlarına göre İstanbul ve Van ili katılımcıları arasında Bireyleşme, Ebeveyni İdealleştirmeme, Ebeveynin Bir İnsan Olarak Algılanması alt boyutları ve Duygusal Özerklik Ölçeği genel toplam puanı açısından istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık vardır. Sosyo-demografik değişkenlerden cinsiyet grupları, yaş grupları ve eğitim durumu grupları arasında da ölçek ve alt ölçek toplam puanları açısından farklılık gözlenmiştir. Ayrıca iki kent katılımcıları ile cinsiyet grupları, eğitim durumu grupları, önceki bir dönemde psikolojik destek alınıp alınmadığına göre oluşturulan gruplar ve yaşanılan kente göç ederek yerleşmiş olma-olmama durumuna göre oluşturulan gruplar arasında ise etkileşim olduğu görülmüştür. Sonuçlar, duygusal özerkliğin ele alındığı başka çalışmalarda kültürel farklılıkların mutlaka dikkate alınmasını ve bazı sosyo-demografik değişkenlerin sabit tutulması ya da kontrol edilmesi gerektiğini ortaya koymaktadır.
This study is aimed at determining whether there are differences in the process of achieving emotional autonomy in adolescents according to urban-cultural differences and whether there are interactions in terms of socio-demographic variables. In this direction, the comparison of participants from the provinces of Van and Istanbul, which represent the east and west of Turkey, is planned. The study included 1136 people between the ages of 15-25 in Istanbul, 876 in Van, 1271 girls, 741 men, and a total of 2012 people. The participants responded to the Emotional Self-Development Scale and the socio-demographic survey form. According to the results of the one-way multi-variable and multi-way multi-variable analysis (MANOVA), there are statistically significant differences between the participants in Istanbul and Van, in terms of individuality, non-parental idealization, the subdimensions of the perception of the parent as a person and the emotional autonomy scale in terms of the overall total score. The differences from socio-demographic variables between gender groups, age groups and educational status groups have also been observed in terms of scale and low scale total points. There was also interaction between the two city participants and gender groups, educational status groups, groups formed according to whether psychological support was received in the previous period and groups formed according to the situation of settlement and non-residence by migrating to the experienced city. The findings show that cultural differences must be taken into account in other studies where emotional autonomy is addressed and that some socio-demographic variables must be kept or controlled.
