Abstract:

Hasan Ali Toptaş is one of the important names in the modern/postmodern line of Turkish literature. Combining the postmodern novel techniques with its own language characteristics and meaning universe, Toptaş shows a multi-layer text using its traditional identity with the Bird's Journey novel. The emotional intensity between the reality and the fantasy universe is a high-threatening novel, The Birds Go to the way, a father/son knows the possibility of different reading in the text. In the relevant novel, individual insensitivity created by modern life, generational conflict that preserves the existence of almost every period, loss of value, traditional-modern life conflict, different topics come to the forefront as areas the author wants to attract attention. In the novel, which wins a multi-layer character with different subjects included in the supergirl text, it appears that the frame layer is the father-son relationship. Using postmodern narrative techniques, individual loneliness is reflected in different places. Between these spaces, the literary and aesthetic value of the 'way' which, in particular, the narrative's self-calculation, becomes the questioning area of life, is high as a metafor. During the journey, the Turkular frequently appears as reflections of the method of intertext, along with the intimate language that the writer adds to the work. The novel, where popular stories and symbols are also frequently used, offers the opportunity to make a time journey to the reader. The bird goes to the way that shows a read-centered approach with unanswered questions, and is also open to different interpretations in this direction. This aspect of the work is also a manifestation of the writer's post-working aspect. In this autobiographical work, it is also possible to see the clues about the writer's life. The novel of Hasan Ali Toptaş, which offers different fields of study, has been subject to the study in the center of the postmodern narrative techniques used in the construction of the work, symbols/sembles, public beliefs, individual conflicts.
