TÜKETİCİLERİN PROBİYOTİK VE PREBİYOTİK GIDALARA YÖNELİK BİLGİ DÜZEYLERİ VE TÜKETİM DURUMLARININ BELİRLENMESİ: İZMİR/BORNOVA ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract:

Bu araştırma, İzmir’in Bornova ilçesinde yaşayan bireylerin probiyotik ve prebiyotik gıdalar hakkındaki bilgi düzeylerini ve tüketim durumlarını belirlemek amacıyla planlanmıştır. Ankete katılan gönüllü 196 kişi tesadüfi örneklem yöntemi kullanılarak belirlenmiştir. Ankete katılan kişilerin %51.5’ini kadın, %48.5’ini erkekler oluşturmuş ve yaş aralığı çoğunlukla (%31.6) 22-24 arasında değişim göstermiştir. Anket sonuçları tüketicilerin %49’unun probiyotik ve prebiyotik kavramını bildiğini ortaya koymuştur. Tüketicilerin %52.3’ünün probiyotik/prebiyotik ürün satın alırken besin etiketine dikkat ettiği, %41’inin haftada en az bir kere probiyotik tükettiği, %54.1’inin ise tükettiği bu gıdalardan yarar gördüğü saptanmıştır. Probiyotik ve prebiyotik gıda tüketenlerin %63.9’unun bu ürünleri sindirim sistemine olan faydalarından dolayı tükettiği belirlenmiştir. Yürütülen bu çalışmanın sonuçları, sağlık üzerine birçok olumlu etkisi olan probiyotik ve prebiyotik ürünlerin önemini vurgulaması ve toplumun bu gıdalarla ilgili olarak doğru bir şekilde bilgilendirmesi gerektiğini ortaya koymuştur.

Abstract:

This study is planned to determine the levels of knowledge and consumption of probiotic and prebiotic foods for individuals living in the Bornova district of İzmir. 196 volunteers who participated in the survey were identified using the random sampling method. 51.5 percent of the survey participants were women, 48.5 percent were men, and the age range mostly (31.6 percent) varied from 22 to 24. The survey found that 49% of consumers know the concepts of probiotics and probiotics. 52.3 percent of consumers observed the nutritional label when purchasing probiotic/prebiotic products, 41 percent consumed probiotic at least once a week, and 54.1 percent benefited from these foods they consumed. Probiotic and probiotic food consumers are 63. 9 is determined to consume these products because of their benefits to the digestive system. The results of this study showed the importance of probiotic and probiotic products, which have many positive effects on health, and the public should be properly informed about these foods.

The results of survey show that 49% of the consumers know the definition of probiotic and prebiotic terms. It was detected that 52.3% of the consumers take care of food label, 41% consume probiotics at least once a week and 54.1% take benefit to consume these foods. 63.9% of the consumers declared that they are consuming these foods for their benefits on digestive system. The results of this study show that the importance of probiotic and prebiotic products, which have many positive effects on health, should be emphasized and the public should be informed correctly on these foods.
