Abstract:

The Sicill-i Ahval Books are the most important resource material for the biography of the Ottoman State officials. The Sicill-i Ahvâl Books are the official documents in which the biographies of officials are kept in the Ottoman State. In this study, the biographies of non-Muslim officials born in Kayseri were studied using the Sicill-i Ahvâl Bofter. In this study, a total of 88 Kayseri-born non-Muslim state officials recorded in the Sicill-i Ahvâl Books were studied. Officials contain information about the year in which they were born, the nations, the father's name, the father's profession and vocabulary, the languages in which they were taught, known or familiar with, and the educational conditions. This information reflects what tasks they are in, what wages they receive, what rates they are awarded for their superior efforts and what they are awarded with the rate, the marriage and the medal, and what they are punished or not, and the other aspects in the biographies of the officials.
