Bir metnin özü, yazarın vermek istediği ileti veya öğüt olarak açıklanan ana fikir, metnin kök düşüncesidir. Yardımcı fikir ise metindeki bir paragrafa ya da bölüme ait olan ve ana fikri besleyen düşüncelerdir. Bir metnin ana fikrini ve yardımcı fikirlerini belirleme kazanımı, temel eğitim düzeyinde öğretilmeye başlanmaktadır. Öğrenciler bir metnin ana fikrini ve yardımcı fikirlerini belirlemede zaman zaman zorlanmaktadır. Metnin anlaşılırlığını artırmak, metnin ana fikrini ve yardımcı fikirlerini bulmayı kolaylaştırmak için çeşitli öğrenme stratejileri kullanılmaktadır. Okunan veya dinlenilen içeriklerin okuma/dinleme öncesi, sırası ve sonrası aşamalarında uygulanan stratejiler, bireyin anlama becerilerini artırmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı, örgütleme stratejileri kullanılarak hazırlanan uygulamaların öğrencilerin ana fikir bulma becerilerine yönelik başarılarına etkisini belirlemektir. Uygulama okulu olarak seçilen bir ilkokulun 4. sınıfındaki öğrencileri ile yürütülen bu çalışma, karma desene göre kurgulanmıştır. Örneklem grubu ölçüt örnekleme yöntemine göre seçilmiştir. Uygulama sınıfı seçilirken “ilkokul 4. sınıf öğrencisi olma, ana fikir bulma konusuna zorlanma ve araştırmaya katılmaya gönüllü olma” kriterleri belirlenmiştir. Öğrenme stratejilerinden örgütleme stratejilerine göre hazırlanan ders planlarında öyküleyici ve bilgilendirici metinler kullanılmıştır. 15 hafta süren araştırmada elde edilen veriler analiz edilerek yorumlanmıştır. Örgütleme stratejilerinin kullanımıyla yapılan öğretim sonucunda öğrencilerin ana fikir ve yardımcı fikir bulma düzeylerinde ilerleme olmuştur.
The main idea, which is explained as the essence of a text, the message or advice that the author wants to give, is the root idea of the text. The supporting idea is the thoughts that belong to a paragraph or section in the text and feed the main idea. The acquisition of determining the main idea and supporting ideas of a text is taught at the basic education level. Students sometimes have difficulty in identifying the main idea and supporting ideas of a text. Various learning strategies are used to increase the understanding of the text and make it easier to find the main idea and supporting ideas of the text. Strategies were applied before, during and after reading or listening of the content read or listened to increase the comprehension skills of the individual. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the applications prepared using organizing strategies on the success of students' skills to find the main idea. This study acquires a mixed research model and it was conducted in a primary school with 4th graders. The sample group was selected according to the criterion sampling method. While choosing the application class, the criteria of "being a 4th grade primary school student, having difficulty finding the main idea and being willing to participate in the research" were determined. Narrative and informative texts were used in the lesson plans prepared according to the organizing strategies, one of the learning strategies. The data obtained during the 15-week study were analyzed and interpreted. As a result of implementing organizing strategies into teaching, there has been an improvement in student’s ability to find the main idea and supporting ideas.
