Abstract:

The aim of this research is to identify the impact of the processual reading model on the ability of students of 7th grade to create mental image and to expose their views.  The sample of the quantum size of the study consists of a total of 66 participants in the experiment (n=33) and the control group (n=33) and the study group for the qualification size consists of 14 students who participated voluntarily in the study. The quantum size of the research carried out in the karma design is designed according to the experimental design of the pre-test-sontest control group. In the qualification size, face-to-face conversations were conducted with students in the experiment group and the data was recorded with the audio recording device. The experimental application process of the study took a total of 10 weeks, including 8 weeks of experimental application, two weeks of pre-test-sontests. The strategies used in the experimental group are taught to students with the Stage Responsibility Transfer Model. The study used the "Mental Imaging Assessment Form" (ZIDF) for the collection of quantum data, while the collection of qualitative data used a semi-configured conversation guide. Percentage of the number of data (% of the number of data) F , independent groups t-test, Mann-Whitney U test; in the analysis of the quality data, the content analysis was used.  According to the research findings, the students’ ZIDF scores have been found to show statistically significant differences in favour of the experimental group and the students of the experimental group have positive opinions about the processual reading model. Students have also expressed their opinion that the Turkish teaching, in accordance with the processual reading model, increases the durability of knowledge, enables the use of different strategies, methods and techniques in the classroom environment and develops the skills to create mental image.
