Araştırmada, Isparta ili, Yalvaç ilçesinin turizm potansiyeli belirlenerek ilçe turizmine ilişkin bir SWOT analizi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın önemi hem ilçe turizmine katkı sağlamak hem de gelecekte ilçe turizmine ilişkin yapılacak çalışmalar adına bilimsel bir zemin hazırlamaktır. Yalvaç ilçesinin turizm potansiyelini ortaya koymak yanında, ilçenin turizm yönünden güçlü yönleri ile fırsatların tespit edilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Ayrıca, zayıf yönleri ile tehditlerin ortadan kaldırılması hedeflenmektedir. İlçenin Türkiye’deki 17 Sakin Şehrinden biri ve Hıristiyan dinine inananlar için önemli ikinci hac merkezi olması güçlü yönünü oluştururken, altyapı ve kırsal turizm bilincinin yetersizliği zayıf yönünü oluşturmaktadır. Günümüzde ülkemizde ve dünya genelinde alternatif turizm türlerine yönelik ilginin artması ve kırsal turizm faaliyetlerinin daha fazla desteklenmesi Yalvaç için fırsat oluşturabilecek bir unsurdur. Doğal alanların bilinçsizce kullanımından kaynaklanan çevre sorunları ise tehdit olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Yapılan analizler ve literatür taraması neticesinde, Yalvaç ilçesinin turizm potansiyeli ortaya konulmuş ve Yalvaç turizmi için stratejiler belirlenmiştir.
In the study, a SWOT analysis of the district tourism was carried out by determining the tourism potential of the Isparta, Yalvaç district. In this context, the importance of the work is to contribute both to the district tourism and to prepare a scientific groundwork for the work to be done on the district tourism in the future. In addition to revealing the tourism potential of the Yalvaç district, it is intended to identify the strengths and opportunities of the district in the tourism direction. It is also aimed at eliminating threats with its weaknesses. The district is one of the 17 quiet cities in Turkey and a second important hub for those who believe in Christian religion, while the lack of infrastructure and rural tourism awareness is a weak side. Today, the increased interest in alternative tourism in our country and worldwide and the further support of rural tourism activities is an element that can create an opportunity for Yalvaç. The environmental problems arising from the unconscious use of natural spaces are threatened. As a result of the analysis and literature scan, the tourism potential of the Yalvaç district has been revealed and the strategies for Yalvaç tourism have been determined.
In this study, it was determined tourism potential of Yalvaç district of Isparta province by conducted SWOT analysis. According to this context, the importance of the study is to contribute to the tourism of the county and to prepare a scientific ground for the future studies on the district tourism. In addition to these, it aims to eliminate threats with weaknesses. The strong points of the Yalvaç districts are first of all it is one of the 17 slowcity in Turkey, and secondly it is the pilgrimage place for Christian religion, but lack of infrastructure and rural tourism are the weaknesses of Yalvaç. Nowadays, interests in alternative tourism types in world and our country are increasing significantly which show us we should support rural tourism for Yalvaç. The environmental problems arising from the unconscious use of natural areas are mentioned as threats. As a result this study, the tourism potential of Yalvaç district was determined and strategies for Yalvaç tourism were suggested.
