Like many women around the world, women in Turkey experience violence. Unfortunately, every day we see women exposing to violence. This study is conducted to have a deep understanding of women abuse in Turkey by examining the studies of public and private organizations. The statistics show that women abuse rates increase by years and 2015 is the boiling point among these years. It is glad to see that there are many public and private institutions working hard on “women abuse” and “gender mainstreaming” issues. The Foundation for Women’s Solidarity who work in cooperation with European Commission since 2009, Mor Çatı, and Kamer Organization are some of these non-profit organizations struggling against women abuse in Turkey. The study is conducted in The Foundation for Women’s Solidarity, Ankara. Data is collected by one-to-one interview with two experts working for The Foundation for Women’s Solidarity. The study is also supported by the actions that are taken by public and private institutions working on women abuse. As a result of this research it is concluded that education is important and educators as well as social media have crucial roles for preventing women abuse.
