Abstract:

Listening which is one of the basic language skills of Turkish is used most commonly in daily life according to the most studies that are done. In the community life, the success of interpersonal relation is directly related to the effective use of listening skills. These skills have been discussed in detail in the Turkish Courses 6, 7, 8 classes) Education Program which are prepared according to constructivist approach. With this arrangement it has been compulsory to include a listening text on each theme on native language course. Listening which is one of the comprehension skills is used for many purposes in daily life and for hat reason various type of listening skills have been emerged. In variety of different sources different researchers have made variety type of listening classifications. The critical listening which has an important place in different type of classification is related to critical thinking. The individuals who use this type of listening gain skills such as asking question, to be attentive and quick at the same time, the development of critical listening skills-saving features such as speaker of the positive assessment, different methods / techniques, it is possible through the use of classroom activities. Although The Seven Listening Method is used in Elementary Turkish Course (6, 7, 8 classes) in curriculum and in Turkish course teacher's guide book is the fact that it is very little used. The critical listening which is important for developing students’ critical listening skills should be encouraged to be more involved in listening texts in Turkish.
