ÖZEL YETENEKLİ LİSE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN AİLE VE OKULA YÖNELİK DEMOKRATİK ORTAM ALGILARININ BELİRLENMESİ

Abstract:

Bu araştırmanın amacı, özel yetenekli öğrencilerin aile ve okula yönelik demokratik ortam algılarını belirlemektir. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2018-2019 eğitim öğretim yılında Bilim ve Sanat Merkezlerine devam eden 211 lise öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Araştırma, tarama modelinde betimsel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın örneklemi amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örneklemesi yoluyla belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri Yıldırım (2018) tarafından geliştirilmiş olan Ailede Algılanan Demokratik Ortam Ölçeği ve Okulda Algılanan Demokratik Ortam Ölçeği olmak üzere iki ölçek aracılığıyla elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca ölçeklere birer adet açık uçlu soruda eklenmiştir. Ailede algılanan demokratik ortam ölçeği iki alt faktör ve 12 maddeden, Okulda Algılanan Demokratik Ortam Ölçeği ise dört alt faktör ve 20 maddeden oluşan beşli likert tipi bir ölçektir. Araştırmada betimsel istatistikler, Kruskal Wallis ve Mann Whitney U testleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verilerine göre öğrencilerin ailedeki ve okuldaki demokratik ortama yönelik algı düzeylerinin olumlu yönde yüksek olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Öğrencilerin ailedeki demokratik ortama yönelik algıları anne ve baba eğitim durumlarına göre anlamlı farklılık göstermemiştir. Ayrıca devlet okuluna devam eden öğrenciler ile özel okula devam eden öğrencilerin okuldaki demokratik ortam algıları arasında anlamlı fark olmadığı belirlenmiştir.

Identification of special skilled high school students' family and school-oriented democratic mediums

Abstract:

The aim of this research is to determine the perceptions of the democratic environment of the special talented students towards the family and school. The sample of the study was formed by 211 high school students continuing to the Science and Arts Centers in the 2018-2019 educational year. Research is an imaginary study in the screening model. The study was determined by measurement sampling methods for sample purposes. The data of the study was obtained through two scales: the Democratic Environment Scale in the Family and the Democratic Environment Scale in the School, which was developed by Yıldırım (2018) and the Democratic Environment Scale in the Family. It is also added to the measurements in an open end question. The scale of the democratic environment perceived in the family is a scale of two subfactors and 12 items, while the scale of the democratic environment perceived in the school is a scale of five subfactors and 20 items. The study used visual statistics, Kruskal Wallis and Mann Whitney U tests. According to the research data, students’ perception of the democratic environment in the family and in the school is high in a positive direction. Students' perceptions of the democratic environment in the family did not make any significant differences according to the educational conditions of the mother and father. It is also established that there is no meaningful difference between students who continue to state school and students who continue to private school in the perceptions of the democratic environment in the school.
