Abstract:

The aim of this research is to reveal the skills and factors that influence pre-school teachers and teachers' candidates towards cultural diversity within the classroom. Research is a scan research in the imaginary nature. The universe of research is formed by teachers candidates in the 2018-2019 educational year, located in the southeastern Anatolian region, with the motherhood and childhood teachers in the same city and studying in the pre-school teaching and child development program. The study used the "Teacher Qualification Scale for Inter-Class Cultural Diversity" and "Demographic Forms" as a data collection tool. T-Test and one-way ANOVA analyses are conducted in the SPSS program for data analysis. When the results were studied, it was found that pre-school teachers and teachers candidates have high skills towards cultural diversity within the classroom. The skills of teachers and teachers candidates towards cultural diversity within the classroom, gender, the program they have read, has been found that there is no meaningful difference between the conditions of teaching in this regard. However, the presence of teachers and teachers candidates, friends from different cultural environments in their classrooms, has shown a meaningful relationship with the kind of high school they study and the geographical area they come to, with the skills toward cultural diversity within the classroom. It is recommended to provide practical courses in pre-school teacher training programs for the findings of the study.
