The present study sought to classify and compare the physical fitness of schoolchildren aged 8 to 10 years of public schools the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina, the Basic School Professor Clementino Britto, of Porto União –SC, and Municipal School Professor Serapião, of União da Vitória-PR, Data collection was conducted from May 21 until the day June 1, 2012. Problem is to find what the difference in the level of physical fitness of schoolchildren aged 8 to 10 years in the public schools of Paraná andSanta Catarina. What justifies the realization of this work is the fact that it is shrinking the number of children practicing physical activity, and as a consequence, lead to the acquisition of propensity hypokinetic diseases and more likely to motor disability. The methodology used was by checking body composition, body weight and height to determine body mass index (BMI) and skinfold measurements to determine body fat percentage, besides the implementation of physical fitness tests suggested by the protocols PROESP-BR (Brazil Project Sport): flexibility, muscular strength and endurance, cardiorespiratory endurance, explosive strength of lower limbs, upper limbs explosive power, agility and speed. We evaluated 137 children, including 60 students from Santa Catarina and Paraná 77 school. The results demonstrate that the differences statistically significant at p ≤ 0.05 will occur only in the agility test boys, where boys do Paraná achieved superior results compared to Santa Catarina in the comparison of thethree age groups together.
