Bezoars are masses that arise in the gastrointestinal system from indigestible material such as food, hair, carpet fiber, or clothing. They are usually seen in patients with abnormal gastrointestinal system anatomy due to surgery, impairment of gastric emptying or mental retardation. Endoscopic therapy with fragmentation or enzymatic dissolution has been reported with varying degrees of success. Surgery is indicated when conservative therapy with chemical dissolution or endoscopic therapy is unsuccessful. Herein, we report two patients with gastric bezoar who were treated with surgery.
