İngiliz tiyatrosu yirminci yüzyılda büyük bir dönüşüm göstermiştir. Hem biçimsel hem de söylemsel düzeyde çeşitlenen dramatik dil, imparatorluğun dağılmasının ardından sancılı süreçler yaşayan imparatorluk mirasçısı bir toplumun karmaşık ilişkilerini yansıtır. Küreselleşmenin de etkisiyle çeşitli milli, kültürel ve dinsel farklılıklarla daha çok karşılaşmaya başlayan İngiliz sosyolojisi, sahnede bu karşılaşmaları daha çok görmeye başlamıştır. Her ne kadar böylesi dönüşüm dönemlerinde dramatik çeşitlilik artış gösterse de, aynı zamanda “ötekiliğin” çok katmanlı hâlleri de sahnede kendine yer bulur. Bununla birlikte ötekilik de tıpkı toplumsal yapı gibi heterojen bir kimliğe sahiptir: Ötekilik, sahnede her an herkesin maruz kalabileceği, farklı ırk, din, cinsiyet ve sınıftan çeşitli karakterlerin dâhil olduğu bir kavşakta olma halidir. Bu çalışmada bu tiyatral durumu Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw’ın feminist kuram ve eleştirel ırk düşüncesi bağlamında ortaya attığı “kesişimsellik” (1989 1991) kavramından yola çıkarak dramatik kesişimsellik olarak adlandırıyoruz. Dramatik kesişimsellik, bir araya gelerek yığılan ötekilik hallerinin tiyatro türü üzerinden incelendiği analitik bir çerçeveye işaret etmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Mustapha Matura’nın Eve Hoş Geldin Jacko (1978) adlı oyunu ötekiliğin çok kutuplu ve kesişimsel özellikleri bağlamında incelenecektir. Bu çalışmada önce Crenshaw’ın “kesişimsellik” kavramı kısaca ele alınacak ve bu kavramı örneklendiren tiyatro metinlerine bakılacak, daha sonra Matura’nın eseri dramatik kesişimsellik kavramı üzerinden okunacaktır.
The British theatre showed a great transformation in the twentieth century. The dramatic language, varied both formally and verbally, reflects the complex relations of an imperial hereditary society that lives in punitive processes after the dissolution of the empire. With the influence of globalization, the British sociology, which began to face more and more various national, cultural and religious differences, began to see more and more these encounters on the stage. Although the dramatic diversity is increasing during such transformation periods, the multi-layer conditions of "intersection" also find themselves on the stage. However, egocentrism also has a heterogeneous identity, just like the social structure: egocentrism is a state in a crossroads where everyone can be exposed at any moment on the stage, where different races, religions, gender and classes include different characters. In this study, we call this theatrical situation dramatic intersectional, starting from the concept of "crossing" (1989-1991) which Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw has revealed in the context of feminist theory and critical racial thought. Dramatic intersectionality indicates an analytical framework in which the circumstances of intersectionality gathered together are studied through the theatre type. In this study, Mustapha Matura's Game Welcome to the House, Jacko (1978) will be studied in the context of the multi-pole and intersectional characteristics of ecstasy. In this study, first the concept of Crenshaw's "crossing" will be briefly discussed and the theatrical texts that exemplify this concept will be looked at, then Matura's work will be read through the concept of dramatic crossing.
