Şaman kültürünün, dünya görüşünün, yaşamının ve inanç esaslarının iki temel kaynağından biri alkış-dualar (ilahiler), diğeri de efsanelerdir. Şamanik yaşamın bütün evrelerini canlandıran şaman efsaneleri yeterli derecede derlenip yayımlanmadığı gibi, az araştıralan konulardan da biridir. Hem memorat hem hikâye hem mit özelliği taşıyan şaman efsaneleri bu özellikleri ile genel anlamda efsane türünden farklılık gösterir. İlk önce, etnik ve bölgesel özellikli tüm şaman efsanelerinin baş kahramanının şamanın olduğunu vurgulamak lazımdır. Efsanelerin baş kahramanı olan şamanlar bir taraftan gök ve yeraltı dünyası sakinleriyle, kötü ruhlarla iletişim kurmakla hastaları iyileştiren, ulusun refahını koruyan, toplumsal barışı sağlayan olumlu bir tip gibi karşımıza çıkar. Diğer taraftan kendi soydaşlarına zarar veren, diğer şamanları amansızlıkla öldüren, kızdırıldıklarında insanlara ve hayvanlara hastalık musallat eden olumsun bir anti-kahramandır. Bu da onların gerçek şahıslar olduğu konusunda toplumun kanaatiyle üst üste düşer. Efsanelerde şamanın bir kahraman olarak oluşmasında Altaylı Türk kavimlerinin ve Yakutların halk kahramanları hakkındaki mitleri prototip rolünü oynamıştır. Bu yazının araştırma konusu, şamanın zihinsel yapısından şamanist dünya görüşe kadar her şeyin yer aldığı şaman efsaneleridir ve efsanelerin birleştiği tek nokta şamanların doğaüstü yeteneklere sahip mitolojik bir kahraman olarak tasarlanmasıdır. O nedenle hem anlatıcı hem de dinleyici tarihi bir kişiliğe sahip şamanın olağanüstü yeteneklerine inanmaktadır. Konusu bakımından çeşitlilik gösteren şaman efsanelerinde şamanlığın ortaya çıkması, ilk şaman, ölüp-dirilme ve şaman mucizeleri, hastaları sağaltma vb. geniş yayılmıştır.

First of all, it is necessary to emphasize that the main hero of all the Shaman legends with ethnic and regional characteristics is the Shaman. The champions, the heroes of legends, on the one hand come to us with the residents of the sky and underground world as a positive type of healing patients by communicating with evil spirits, preserving the prosperity of the nation, providing social peace. On the other hand, he is a negative anti-hero who damages his fellow peoples, who kills the other shamans in sinfulness, who causes illness to humans and animals when they are angry. This is the fact that they are the true people of society. In the legends, the myths about the people of the Altayli Turkish peoples and the people of the Yakut played a prototype role in shaman's formation as a hero. The research topic of this article is the shaman legends where everything is included, from the mental structure of the shaman to the shamanist worldview, and the only point where the legends combine is the design of the shaman as a mythological hero with supernatural abilities. Therefore, both the narrative and the listener believe in the extraordinary abilities of the shaman with a historical personality. The appearance of shamanism in the shaman legends that show diversity in its subject, the first shaman, the miracles of death and resurrection and the shaman, the provision of patients, etc. It is widely spread.
