Isotretinoin is thought to be a psychiatric positive contribution due to its effect on improving external appearances, but it is also claimed that it may lead to psychopathologies. A 23 year-old female who has been using isotretinoin for about 5 months has attempted suicide by taking an overdose of drugs. The interview with the patient stated that "after using isotretinoin, her psychology got worse and she wanted to die with an instant thought". When considering the possible effects of isotretinoin, one of the top 10 drugs associated with suicide, used for the treatment of acne vulgaris and the increased suicidal tendency among young people in teenagers who care about appearance; we underline that isotretinoin need to prescribed after a rigorous psychiatric assessment and negative psychological changes in patients' follow-ups should not be ignored.
