Abstract:

The study aims to identify the metaphoric perceptions of the respect root value of Turkish teachers that are included in the Turkish lesson teaching program (2018) in Turkey. The study found similarities and differences in the metaphors that the Turkish teachers who participated in the study produced against the respect root value. According to this, metaphoric perceptions of respect root value are classified and classified in categories based on scientific foundations. The method of research is determined by the quality research methods as the fact science. The study group consists of 142 Turkish teachers with different professional degrees, graduated from 24 different universities, working in 7 different geographical areas in the 2022-2023 educational year. Data collected from participants through Google Forms, from participants "Related root value ............. as if. Because ........................” It is required that the statement be completed properly. The metaphors produced by the participants and the reasons for creating these metaphors were studied by content analysis from the quality research methods. According to the data submitted, the participants produced 86 current metaphors for the root value of respect. The metaphors produced by the participants were classified in 10 categories according to their common characteristics. According to the research, the perceptions of Turkish teachers towards the value of the root of respect: The most of the water metaphor is classified in the category: it is found that it is gathered under the title of respect as part of nature. Turkish teachers have been found to take advantage of nature, the concept of equality, the guidance, the emotions, structures, the concept of family, the vital elements, the concept of the universe and the food elements while producing a metafor on the root value of respect.
